WASHINGTON DC

1. A very long escalator is at Wheaton Station on the red line. It takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds
to ride the whole way without walking.

2. The width apart from each of the tracks on the metrorail system is unique to all the other train
systems in the USA except for BART in San Francisco.

3. Some trains only run to certain points outside the city, instead of running the whole line.

4. Some trains go really fast! On one stretch, in between Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom,
trains go up to 55 Miles per hour! That's pretty fast for a subway.

5. In December 2003 at Addison Road - Seat Pleasent station on the Blue Line, a deer was caught on
the security cameras going down an escalator, running past a waiting train, and then escaping to the woods!
The reason it got to the station is because the station is half underground, half outside. According to Metro,
the deer's nickname was Rudolph the Blue Line Reindeer.

Note: I am very sorry, I could not find a link to a video for you, but here is a link to the article: The Link to the Deer Article

BOSTON
